Top priorities on recruitment

Recent survey report from Singapore, HongKong and Malaysia

The top priority of Asian companies is to improve the quality of recruitment candidates that they attract.

This was among the findings of an online survey by Resource Solutions, a provider of recruitment process outsourcing solutions. It is part of the Robert Walters Group,

The research, which covered 350 HR and other professionals in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, was presented at an HR event held in Singapore and Malaysia this month.

While the No.1 priority was the recruitment of quality candidates, the second and third priorities for HR are to improve services in the hiring of managers and to provide a better response to candidates respectively. Next-ranked priority is to reduce recruitment costs.

Forty-three per cent of the survey respondents revealed that the hiring of permanent employees is on the rise compared to in 2011, with the largest increase seen in Malaysia.

Sixty-four per cent have not implemented recruitment technology to track the employment history of permanent employees. This percentage increased to 74% when temporary and contract employees are ncluded.
